Beyond Urban's cottages were the first structures to be built on the Misty Mountain Farm in 1980.  Initially, these were constructed for labourers who worked on the farm, but they have now been restored to our relaxed rustic cottages.

The inhabitants of these quaint cottages worked on the original dairy farm that was located on the site.  The farm workers used to start work at 4am with their daily chores that included milking the cows, feeding the calves and ensuring the mielie fields were in good standing.    Being part of such a small community would ensure that plenty of daily laughs and stresses were shared amongst the workers.  Today, we aim to honour this strong sense of community by having cottages that have a central focus.  Additionally, a boma will ensure that night times are pleasantly spent around a fire, staying true to the South African culture. 

Fynbos, Vygie, Blue Lily and Daisy cottages are four semi-detached, two bedroomed cottages, each with screeded cement floors, each with their own unique decor.  Aloe cottage is free standing.  The cottages are serviced daily.  Although the cottages are self catering, guests are most welcometo dine at the nearby Misty Mountain Reserve restaurant, pre-booking is essential.  Wi-fi hotspots are available at Misty Mountain Reserve main lodge.  Convenient BBQ/braai and picnic baskets can be arranged along with refreshments, which can be delivered to your cottage. Braai wood and firelighters are available to purchase at reception.

On site activities include a 9 hole chip and wedge mashie golf course, foot golf, Black Bass and Kurper fishing (bring your own equipment) and mountain bike routes (bring your own bikes and enjoy cycling through the plantations (permits available from reception).  We also boast seasonal whale and dolphin viewinga the look out point at Misty Mountain Reserve which is within walking distance from the cottages.  At Misty Mountain Reserve, one can also enjoy walks and guided hikes, our friendly staff at reception will assist you in pre-booking, essential for these activities.  Our sister company on the N2, Tsitsikamma Adventure Land, offers safe and exciting quad bike tours through the Tsitsikamma forest.  The tours are guided by their fantastic and professional guides and promise to be fun for everyone.  There are many exciting animal and adventure activities in the surrounding area, make sure you don't miss out!  We look forward to welcoming you to experience authentic farmstyle living.
