Activities to take part in during your stay at Oyster Bay Lodge:
Welcome to Oyster Bay Lodge, we wish you a great stay! To compliment your stay; please have a look at the different activities we have to offer for you. Should you be interested in one or more of them during your stay with us please fill in the form below and hand it in at the restaurant, so we can book the activity for you. Please note that all activities are subject to availability and are weather permitting.
HIKING TRAILS (R30 for day visitors)
Green Trail: The green trail is 7.5km in length. You will walk across vast stretches of a dune, have multiple magnificent views and several spots for a picnic.
Blue Trail: A great trail to experience a little piece of paradise around each corner. It is 6.5km and a multitude of birds, plants and animals can be seen.
Red Trail: Walking 5km through a Fynbos rich area, crossing through a wooded section over a few hills is the beach. What a scenic way to view our Coastal Reserve.
Yellow Trail: This trail is an excellent trail to do some light walking or an off trail running circuit. It is 3km and you are bound to have great interactions with our fauna.
(All trails lead to one or more picnic sites. )
BEACH HORSE RIDE (R400 per person)
Have an unforgettable experience while exploring the coastal reserve from horseback and have a gallop or trot along our 3,5 km private beach next to the waves of the Indian Ocean. This activity always goes out with one of our experienced guides and we have various horses, which are even suitable for the “first-timers” or children. Available every day.

BEACH DUNE SAFARI / SELF-DRIVE BEACH DUNE SAFARI (R400 / R500 PER PERSON)
Enjoy a once in a lifetime experience on our beach dune safari vehicle through our coastal reserve and dunes, with our dedicated guide who will tell you all about the reserve and the natural surroundings. A drink stop will be arranged at a lookout point with snacks and a drink (included). Available every day.

DUNE PICNIC (R165 per person)
Pick a picnic spot and time anywhere on the reserve or private beach and one of our experienced guides on horseback will bring a delicious picnic to you. Please inform us about any allergies and if you would like to have an additional beverage (not included). Available every day.
SOUTH AFRICAN BRAAI / SPITBRAAI (R500 per person)
Enjoy a South African braai in our luxurious Boma. With your private chef, this is the perfect setting to have a private night for two or a family gathering. Enjoy a traditional 3-course dinner, which includes a starter, a main and a lovely desert. At the end of your evening enjoy a relaxed stroll back to the lodge, with beautiful views of the Milky Way. Tours depart at 17:30. (Minimum of 2 persons)
DAIRY EXPERIENCE (R350 PER PERSON)
Experience the life of the dairy cows on the Grass Ridge Dairy farm right next door. Our guide will take you through the pastures and around the farm answering any questions that you may have. Then it’s off to the dairy for a look at how more than 900 cows are milked daily. Available every day at 14:00. (Minimum of 2 persons)
MOUNTAIN BIKES (R200 per person)
Explore the coastal reserve or the surrounding area of Oyster Bay Lodge on a mountain bike! Remember your map.

BIRD, FYNBOS AND WETLAND WALK (No Cost)
Take a walk in our arge property which is home to over 170 different bird species, with a variety of different environments, such as a 3.5 km private beachfront, 2 vast stretches of dunes, wetlands, woodlands, river deltas and a variety of Fynbos. There is a dedicated trail for this walk. (Minimum of 2 persons)
SANDBOARDING (R300 per a board) - 3 hours of usage
Have you ever pictured yourself standing on the top of a dune and see yourself sliding down on a sand board? Feel the wind blow through your hair, while there is nothing but serene beauty surrounding you. We will show you the ropes at the lodge and you can go at your own pace with the sand board.
TOWNSHIP TOUR (R400 per person)
Take a guided tour through Umzamuwethu. Visit the crèche, where you’ll be able to meet all the townships little ones. Experience what the local schooling system is all about. Enjoy a tantalising cup of tea served by the locals and join the children for lunch. Stroll in the streets and meet the locals. (Minimum of 2 persons)

Oyster Bay Lodge
Located between Knysna and Port Elizabeth lies Oyster Bay Lodge, a beautiful Coastal Reserve which is set on 100 hectares and incorporates magnificent dunes, woods, river deltas, beaches, wetlands, lagoons, free-roaming horses and an extensive birdlife.
The TGCSA 4 star lodge is strategically located for excursions to Tsitsikamma National Park, Baviaanskloof, St Francis Bay and Addo Elephant National Park.
A variety of activities like horseback riding on the beach, hiking trails on the coastal reserve, sundowners on one of our decks and bird watching will give our guest the opportunity to experience the coastal reserve. Our private and unspoilt sandy beachfront of 3.5 kilometres makes Oyster Bay Lodge a little paradise in the Eastern Cape.
St Francis Bay has two beautiful 18 hole golf courses.
To start or end your journey along the beautiful Garden Route, Oyster Bay Lodge is the ideal destination.
Accommodation
Four luxury chalets. All luxury chalets have king size beds, en-suite open plan bathroom with freestanding bath, walk-in shower and separate toilet, fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, safe, fireplace, under floor heating, kitchenette and private veranda with uninterrupted sea views.
Eight comfortable guest rooms. Our guest rooms have a King size bed (7), & Queen size bed (1). All guest rooms have an en-suite bathroom with separate bath, shower and toilet, fridge & coffee/tea making facilities and safe. Six of the guest rooms have a private veranda with sea view. The remaining guest rooms have a view of our green & lush gardens, farmlands and the mountains.
Two Family Rooms. One self-catering Family Room and one Room only. These spacious rooms have 1 living/bedroom, 1 master bedroom and 1 sharing bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, safe, kitchenette & private veranda with braai (sleeps 4).

Map and Directions to Oyster Bay Lodge
From Cape Town
Coming from Cape Town on the N2 turn off at exit no. 632 Palmietvlei and follow the signs to Oyster Bay Lodge (the road becomes a well-maintained gravel road)for 24 km. Oyster Bay Lodge is situated on the right-hand side of the road.
From Port Elizabeth
From Port Elizabeth take the N2 to Humansdorp. Take the exit Humansdorp/St. Francis/Oyster Bay. After entering Humansdorp at the stop street, go straight into the main street. At the end of the road turn right at the T-junction to Oyster Bay and follow the signs Oyster Bay Lodge. The tar road becomes a well-maintained gravel road, after travelling 23 kilometres, Oyster Bay Lodge is situated on the left-hand side.
